Dr. Buti Obaid Saeed Alfalahi is an Assistant Professor of International Law and Director of Faculty Affairs at the Emirate Academy for Identity and Citizenship, UAE. He holds a Ph.D. in International Law from Cairo University (2022), with a thesis titled “Freedom of Public Employees to Express Their Opinions: A Comparative Study”, rated Excellent.
He has over 18 years of professional experience, starting as an officer in the Emirate Academy (2004–2012), and has played a pivotal academic and administrative role in the College of Identity and Nationality Sciences. Dr. Alfalahi is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the Zayed Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (ZJMR).
His teaching portfolio includes courses in Public International Law (in Arabic and English), International Organizations, Human Rights, and postgraduate modules in Public International Law.
Dr. Alfalahi has participated in several academic conferences, notably presenting papers on job security, international health law, and the role of the WHO during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He is the author of several books published in Arabic, English, and French, including The Culture of Tolerance, Sustainability as a Way of Life, Islamic Culture, and The Principle of Legitimacy and Its Impact on Promoting the SDGs.
His research, published in indexed journals including Scopus, explores international legal principles, environmental awareness, and the role of law in sustainable development.
Dr. Alfalahi’s research interests focus on public international law, international organizations, and the legal aspects of human rights and environmental sustainability.
