Dr. Djamal is a Research Scientist in Space System Engineering and currently the Principal Investigator of a 6U CubeSat mission at Khalifa University. His research focuses on Space Systems, Small satellite technologies, with more focuson space propulsion . He holds a B.Sc. in Computer-Aided Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s in Energetic Engineering and Environment, and a Ph.D. in Energetics and Applied Thermal Engineering. His doctoral work centered on solar hydrogen production using a solar reactor, demonstrating his long-standing commitment to sustainable space technologies. Early in his career, Dr. Djamal worked at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) in the UK, contributing to an Earth observation Satellite program. There, he gained practical experience in the design, integration, and testing of satellite propulsion systems. He joined the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) as a Satellite System Engineer, where he played a key role in the propulsion system development for national satellite programs. His leadership and technical expertise led to his promotion as Senior Researcher and Project Manager, and he established the Satellite Propulsion Laboratory at ASAL's Satellite Development Center. Now at Khalifa University, Dr. Djamal leverages over a decade of experience to lead applied research projects, mentor future engineers, and drive innovation in space propulsion through national international collaboration.
